RCMP seek vehicle in Lakeview Bay hit-and-run

26 October 2026

Witnesses, sightings of recent vehicle damage and video recordings sought in September collision investigation By Stephen Jeffrey

Chestermere RCMP are seeking witnesses and video recordings as they work to identify a vehicle connected to a hit-and-run that damaged vehicles parked in the Lakeview Bay area in September.

Investigators believe the collision happened sometime between the evening of Sept. 16 and late evening Sept. 17, 2026. The damage was discovered Sept. 18 at approximately 5 p.m., after the vehicles had been parked on the street near a residence.

The discovery date is separate from the period police believe the collision occurred. Investigators are asking for information and recordings covering the Sept. 16 to 17 window.

Officers recovered a side mirror and plastic fragments when they examined the scene. Police believe the recovered material is connected to the collision and are working to establish what happened and which vehicle was involved.

Anyone who saw a collision in the neighbourhood during that period is asked to contact Chestermere RCMP at 403-204-8777. Police also want to hear from people who noticed a vehicle with recent damage that could be consistent with a collision.

The request extends to residents and motorists with surveillance recordings, dashcam footage or other relevant video from the identified period. People do not have to have witnessed the impact to possess information covered by the appeal: police are seeking observations of damaged vehicles and relevant recordings.

The public notice does not provide a make, model, colour or licence plate for the vehicle investigators are trying to identify. It does not specify the number of parked vehicles damaged or provide an estimate of repair costs. No driver is identified in the appeal.

For people who prefer to provide information anonymously, the appeal lists Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 and the online reporting service P3Tips.com.

Crime Stoppers provides a separate route for passing information to investigators. Its reporting guidance asks people to explain what happened, where and when it occurred, who was involved if known, and any other relevant details.

The program advises people to share what they know without conducting their own investigation. Information received through the service is reviewed and forwarded to the appropriate law enforcement agency.

The Chestermere detachment is located at 156 East Chestermere Drive. Its regular office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

For this investigation, police have specifically directed people with information to the detachment’s 403-204-8777 number. The appeal seeks help identifying the vehicle and clarifying the circumstances of the Lakeview Bay collision.
