Siksika First Nation, Alta. – On Aug. 20, 2026t, at approximately 4:55 p.m., Gleichen RCMP responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 842 on Siksika First Nation, south of Cluny, Alta. The collision was between an SUV and a combine. RCMP, EMS, Fire and a Siksika Peace Officer attended the scene.
The SUV had three occupants. The driver was taken to a Calgary hospital in serious condition. The front passenger sustained minor injuries. Unfortunately, the rear passenger, a 41-year-old Siksika First Nation resident, was declared deceased at the scene. The combine driver was not injured.
The RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the cause of the collision is under investigation.
