Colin Bicknell
Colin's broadcasting journey began at AM 106/Mix 1060 Radio in Calgary, where he quickly became a beloved on-air personality and skilled producer. From 1989 to 1991, Colin produced the "Northern Lights Rodeo Network" show and hosted the popular "Wagon Wheels Radio" program, both for the JSA Sports Network.
Colin's voice graced the airwaves of CKGR Radio in Golden, British Columbia, where he was not just a mid-morning and afternoon disc jockey but also a commercial copywriter, producer, and voiceover artist. His reporting skills shone as he covered local sports, news, and community events, making him a familiar voice in the community.
A highlight of his career was his role as a trackside reporter and interview host for the Chuckwagon Races at prestigious events like the Calgary Stampede and beyond, sharing the excitement of rodeo and Chuckwagon events across Western Canada and the USA.
Having taken a step back from broadcasting, Colin is now eager to re-engage with the radio world at CFTR the ROGUE. Although retired from his previous roles, his passion for radio is undiminished. With changes in technology and the industry, Colin looks forward to embracing new challenges and simply having fun playing radio again.
